  2. Internet is causing more suicides and dealth now than ever before. This makes it harder on forensic scientists because everybody is using the internet. And people are able to use other people identity and fake identity. They are using false identifications so it want seem like they cause any homicides or conflicts. With this problem of the Wireless IP Camera I wouldn't think someone would do such a thing. Who would secretly want to watch someone else baby sleep without them knowing. This man was ridiculous and obviously had something planned. Our citizens that are associated with the internet have to be more careful because you never know who is out there to cause problems to others.

  3. My thoughts on the video are: People should be more careful as technologies advances every day and why would you creep on a 10-month-old girl. As we know that any kind of technology can be hacked, especially cameras and computers. From the video you could tell that the hacker was obviously a sex offender. This makes it harder on forensic scientist to collect evidence against advance hackers. Citizens need to be more careful with technologies and continue to change their password every two months.

    1. The video was creepy and it is going to be hard for the scientist to find evidence. The person who did this is a creep and a sex offender. The parents need to change their password. Other parents need to take this serious as well. This can happen to anybody. Keyonna Wilcox

    2. I'm scared to send any videos or pictures anymore, bruh. The video makes me feel as someone listens to my conversation, while I'm on the phone with friends. I wonder if someone had the ability to see the snaps I send. That's some scary stuff, man. Ya feel me?

    3. Cj I totally where u coming from !!! Technology is becoming more advanced everyday and it can possibly do anything the inventors program it too do. Its scary knowing your own device so simple as a baby monitor can be hacked and child can be in danger ! *Key Gordon)

  4. I thought the video was creepy and the home owner did not know that anybody was hacked into their system. It makes it harder for detectives to catch the criminal. Citizens should be careful as to what they do from now on. It opens their eyes and it shows them it can happen to anybody. Even the most advance technology can let you down. Their will is always a possibility you can get hacked by a hacker. Keyonna Wilcox

  5. I thought the video was very scary and who ever did it should be sent to jail. They was violating their space and privacy.I recommend that they change their wi-fi password or move to another home. They shouldn't get a new baby monitor system because ot could get hatch to. I thibk they should move the baby bed in there room. I also think that they should find the person who did it. Kristen Hall

    1. I absolutely agree who ever the man was should be punish. We have too many people out here begging for trouble. And it should be a stop to this because its making our people be in fear. Then you never know what more problems that would lead to. Why should we have to be afraid in our own world!

    3. Yes Kristen I agree because if they change the things around a little bit there will be less stress on them. The guy that did this should be sent to prison not jail , because like you said he violated their space.--Jasmine Smith

  6. In my opinion, this video is not surprising. Any person that is remotely good with a computer can hack into any WI-FI of their choosing. Anything connected to that WI-Fi is then able to be accessed by the hacker. it is, however, slightly frightening that he was able to project his voice through the monitors speakers. I believe the police should track the hacker down through the IP address that will be left on the Wi-Fi's hard drive, and in the mean time, the family should take precautions with their home, and change their WI-FI password.

    1. Although hacking into someone else's wireless network isn't simple, the truth is that there are many skilled criminals waiting to pounce on unsuspecting victims. However, people who have enough technical knowledge to hack into others' devices probably have the expertise to come up with ways to hide their own IP addresses, making it harder for forensics teams to easily track them down.

      Delete
    2. This is very true, and something that the criminal very likely could have done. It does indeed make it very hard on the forensic teams, but not impossible. Especially considering the amount of technology that the forensics team has at an arms width.
It is a sad and scary thing of how skilled the criminals are getting, and I completely agree that they are waiting for unsuspecting victims. I believe that this problem will only get worse as it already has.

  7. This is very disturbing. What kind of pervert is responsible for this. I believe that whoever is responsible for this should be arrested and charged with invasion of privacy. If anybody can hack into to your wifi at their leisure this is a little scary. We should protect our wifi systems a little better. We can put people in space why cant we invent better security software

  8. I think that the hacker should get in big trouble because that's invading someone's privacy. Now days It's not safe to have those things in your home. We need to have a code on our wifi and be careful who you give it to because you can't trust everyone. This is scary because someone is watching your home and maybe finding a way to get in. The police need to be very aware of this new thing and punish the people. Jalil Daniels

  9. This article reveals to me that people should probably be more cautious with technology. Obviously it isn't the fault of the camera-owners, but different types of technology lead to different types of invasions, and owners of these forms of technology have to be more prepared and secure. With IP address-based technology such as the baby surveillance camera, it can be easier to access devices but harder to track those who intrude. Because of how easy it can be to hack into someone's network through this way, it can be almost impossible to collect sufficient evidence to convict someone of this type of crime. Therefore, citizens who decide to get vulnerable technology have the burden of protecting themselves from people who want to take advantage of them.

    1. Though as we progress with this type of technology we will learn more efficient ways to track the invasions. Currently it is possible to track the device that is the origin of these hacks, however, most agencies are not equipped to track a well versed hacker. - Griffin Law

  10. It is a good idea to have a baby moniter with a camera attached, but be careful with who can gain access. You do not want some random stranger watching your child sleep or i know i surely do not. The fault is not on the family, but on the hacker for invasion of privacy and illegal use of technology. This man has to be really sick in the head to hack a baby moniter and watch and holler at a sleeping baby. To be more cautious about this happening to other innocent familys have different passwords for everything. Courtrney Smith

    1. Not only a different password but different systems and be aware of the people out there that know how to hack. These things happen daily but you rarely hear about it because they are hard to catch. The logical thing to do is keep the child in the room with you. Cody Long

  11. It was a smart idea to have a baby monitor set up the baby's room to keep a check on the baby. The video was also very weird. I didn't understand why the man would want to yell at a baby through the baby monitor. The family needs to be more aware of their surroundings when it comes to home and each other. How it pertains to forensics is that the same way we can track down evidence through DNA is the same way they can track down the intruder through the monitor such as the signal that it is coming from. 12. Sometimes things that you never thought could happen to you happen and leave you in disbelieve. This is something i wouldn't wish on anyone. I would hate to have that happen to my family but sometimes you take risk to improve your security and it turns out to harm them instead. Hackers are very dangerous and need to be placed in jail. I personally blame the internet, because most people learn how to hack from the internet.

  13. I thought that this was extremely dangerous and scary situation for someone to so easily hacked into someone's personal belongings or life. This problem could also cause very harmful things to happen to someone all because of someone hacking their camera. Causing them to have verbal and/or physical conflicts. Justice should be served and all hackers should be put in jail. And my sympathy goes out to all people that have been hacked or will be in the near future. 14. The real people at fault here, I believe are the Shrieks. They should have done research on the product and its accessibility before purchasing it. If they had not found it when they did, who's to say what would've happened to their family? This person, who as far as I could tell from the article, was/is unidentified. I will not be surprised if this were one of the internet's more persistent hackers who simply wasn't done with his job when they found it. I would doing more than just changing the camera and some passwords at this point. I would be questioning safety in everything in that house! Like, could the hacker have found out my information through my wi-fi? What was he doing, initially, to want to wake my child? How often had this happened? Could he have been fixated with me or my family? Could he possibly find us to come torment us further? I'm sorry, but being up-to-date with technology is not worth putting my family at risk. Let this be a lesson to research and think before trying to keep up with times. -Leslie J. Alewine

  15. Our world is now very fragile due to electronic "advancements". It allows things like this to happen.
Concerning the news story, it is quite unnerving to think that someone has that sort of access to something as private as a baby monitor. It could have easily been cellular phone data, private computer files, financial and personal information, anything. The people of this world need to stop relying so much on technology, or atrocities like this will occur in this future. Only next time, it may not be as harmless as hacking a baby monitor.

  16. I believe it was a dangerous situation for a baby. Knowing that you could possibly have someone invading your home through a baby monitor is a very disturbing thought. People should learn to change all their passwords regularly and make sure the one they choose is a complex one for their safety. As for the hacker, he should be caught and sent to jail for invasion of privacy. Let this be a lesson for everyone else. -- Christian Cook

    2. Agreed Christian. There are so many twisted individuals who take advantage of the advancements in technologies such as these. I feel like people don't take the necessary precautions in cases like this because who would think "hey let me change my passwords so a random stranger won't try to scream at my baby". 17. Personally I would have thought it potentially dangerous to begin with to have a baby monitor that hooks up to the internet anyways. What happened to the good ole baby monitor walkie talkie? The people in the video didn't mention anything about pursuing who it was that did such a twisted thing as to yell at a sleeping baby. Isn't there a way to track the IP address to whatever device hacked the baby monitor? It is a terrible thought to have, that we must fear our lives and our privacy not only because technology has allowed it but because people come up with these ideas. More people should realize now what is more important, the convenience of having the monitor connected to the internet or the safety of the household. Caitlin Reeves

    1. I agree with you, if you can hear a baby crying then what makes you have to see why he is crying on video? We should go back to the old baby monitors that does not require internet connection so hackers will not have access to your home through technology. Whoever the hacker is a very talented individual who is willing to hack into others homes if he hasn't already! Hopefully he will get caught and arrested for this. -- Christian Cook

  18. Personally, I think that the family should have researched the product before investing in it. A closed circuit camera similar to a security system would have been much more efficient than a wireless camera controlled by a phone app. Yes, these people were the terrible victim to a crime that they could have not foreseen but they should know to always be careful with devices connected to the internet. Even requiring a headline connection from the baby's room to the parents would have been a better idea. Overall, it's a good thing that now they understand their issue. Also, other families have been alerted of this issue and have potentially been saved from identity theft - Griffin Law

  19. This person should be arrested. Who in they right mind would yell at a baby, or even hack into something like this. This shows that this person don't have anything else better to do with there live then to hack into a baby's monitor and yell at it. All hackers should be notified to the legal government and should be put behind bars for their crime. They also should get more time in prison for intruding in other peoples lives. -Delaysia Johnson

  20. I think it is very inappropriate for a grown man to watch a young child in a crib. The camera shouldn't have been as easy to access through other devices. To avoid this problem in the future, companies should limit the number of devices that can be used to view what is recorded. This crime can be linked to forenscis because the father was a witness of the voice that can be used in determining who was liable, if suspects were brought in. This can also be a scary epidemic in security overall if other individuals are able to look at you through your devices. Anyone with a camera or basically any technology that can be linked to another device should be sure to have some sort of security that will notify them when a device has been used or is in use.

  21. Personally I think parents should look into anything that pertains their child such as a baby monitor. I find it very sad when something like this occurs and an innocent baby is being targeted. On the Criminal part its sad to even target a baby to begin with , this is an innocent family who is trying to enjoy their life .No one deserves for this to happen to them. The family needed to become more interested in the devices and things that have something to do with their children. Safety is the biggest thing when dealing with a baby ! The man should be put behind bars for this act ! People shouldn't have to worry in their own environment and home setting! #Key Gordon
